Personal Information Collection Statement and Policy

1. Introduction

1.1. This Personal Information Collection Statement and Policy (“Privacy Statement”) is applicable to all users, and the terms herein may be updated, revised, varied and/or amended from time to time as Me2Works may deem necessary and/or appropriate.

1.2. By registering for an Account or using the Services/Site, you agree to:

(a) The Data User collecting, using, disclosing and/or processing your Personal Data for the purposes as described below;

(b) Me2Works sharing, and/or disclosing your Personal Data other Data Users; and

(c) The Data User disclosing your Personal Data to their third-party service providers or agents (whether within or outside Hong Kong) for the purposes as described below

1.3. In order to have the benefit of and enjoy various Services offered by the Site, it may be necessary for you to provide Me2Works your personal information and/or data. Although you are not obliged to provide the information and/or data as requested on the Site, Me2Works will not be able to render certain Services on the Site in the event that you shall fail to do so.

1.4. If you have question or concerns regarding this Privacy Statement, you should contact our Data Protection Officer.

2. Definitions

2.1. Save as set out below, this Policy Statement adopts the definitions used in the Terms and Conditions. The following terms shall have the respective meanings specified below unless the context otherwise requires:

“Affiliate": means Me2Works’ related companies within the meaning of the Companies Ordinance, Cap.622 of the laws of Hong Kong.

“Data Use": means Me2Works, its Affiliates;

“Personal Data”: means personal data as defined under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap.486 of the laws of Hong Kong

3. Privacy Principles

3.1. To preserve the confidentiality of your personal data provided to the Data User, the Data User shall maintain the following data privacy principles:

(a) The Data User shall only collect personal data that the Data User believes to be relevant and required for the purposes stated below.

(b) The Data User will not disclose your personal data outside Caritas, the Community Team or recognized academic institutions unless we have expressly informed you or have your consent or are required by law.

(d) The Data User shall maintain appropriate security systems designed to prevent unauthorized access to your personal data.

4. Personal Data collected

4.1. For the purposes stated below, Me2Works may collect data which may identify you, including but not limited to your name, login ID, age, gender, contact details, date of birth, country of residence, nationality, education level, work experience, work history and other information which may identify you.

5. Purpose of Collection

5.1. Me2Works’s purposes for collecting and using the information and data on the Site include but are not limited to the following:

(a) for the daily operation of the Services provided to Account Holders;

(b) to assist Professionals to find appropriate employment and/or freelance jobs with Recruiters and to assist Recruiters to assess the suitability of candidates for job vacancies;

(c) to provide users with various Services offered by the Site and or any Affiliates and newsletters, job openings and promotional and marketing materials;

(d) to share with Affiliates so that they may provide you with promotion and marketing materials;

(e) to handle and follow up on enquiries, requests and complaints from users;

(f) to contact users regarding administrative notices and communications relevant to his/her use of the Site and to respond to users’ enquiries or requests;

(g) to assist Me2Works with developments for future marketing and promoting purposes or other internal purposes;

(h) to verify the identity of users who have posted Published Information on the Site;

(i) to identify users who have viewed the Published Information posted on the Site;

(j) to allow users to enjoy their benefits as members of the Site by enrolling for special events and promotions hosted by the Data User;

(k) to identify users who have enjoyed their benefits as members of the Site by receiving and using marketing promotional materials;

(l) to facilitate Me2Works and/or Affiliates to use the users’ personal data for the purposes relating to the provision of Services offered by Me2Works and marketing services and/or special event of Me2Works and/or its Affiliates;

(m) to obtain statistics about users to analyze usage of the Site in order to help its further development for internal use; and

(n) for purposes other than the above mentioned which are related to Affiliates’ provision of and or marketing of their product and/or services as Me2Works may deem fit.

6. Transfer of Personal Data

6.1. The Data User may for the purposes stated above, transfer any of your Personal Data to the following third parties or classes of third parties : -

(a) Recruitment companies;

(b) Recruiters;

(d) Marketing and Event companies.

7. Direct Marketing

7.1. The Data User intends to use your Personal Data for direct marketing and requires your consent (which includes an indication of no objection) for that purpose.

7.2. The following classes of marketing subjects may be marketed:

(a) employment and freelance job opportunities;

(b) career related products and services;

(c) special events hosted by Me2Works and its affiliates for members and Users, including but not limited to courses, workshops, and competitions;

(d) reward, loyalty or privilege programs and related products and services;

(e) special offers including coupons, discounts, group purchase offers and promotional campaigns;

(f) products and services offered by Affiliates and Recruiters; and

(g) donations and contributions for charitable and/or non-profit making purposes.

7.3. If you wish us to exclude your personal data for direct marketing purposes, you may do so by (i) signing into the Account and accessing the account maintenance page; or (ii) sending us an email, along with your name and account number to our Data Protection Officer.

8. Access to and correction of personal data

8.1. You have a right to request access to, and the correction of, your personal data in accordance with, where applicable, the provisions of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486), and any other data protection law as applicable. Requests for access and, correction and/or erasure of personal data, as well as withdrawal of consent, where applicable, should be made by email and addressed to our Data Protection Officer.

8.2. In the event that a user wishes to access or amend his/her personal information and data, Me2Works may request him/her to provide personal details in order to verify and confirm his/her identity. Identity card number or passport number or business registration certificate number cannot be amended unless such data is proved to be inaccurate. Me2Works is required to respond to user’s requests within 40 days of his/her request but Me2Works reserves the rights to charge the user a reasonable fee for doing so.

9. Retention of personal data

9.1. Me2Works Hong Kong may retain your personal information even after you have closed your account if retention is reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes between Users, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce this Privacy Statement and the Terms and Conditions.

10. Cookies

10.1. Users can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but users can modify their individual browser settings to decline cookies if they prefer. However, users should note that disabling cookies on their browser may prevent them from taking full advantage of the Site.

11. Changes in this Privacy Statement

11.1. Me2Works reserves the right to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Statement from time to time. You are strongly recommended to review this Privacy Statement frequently. If Me2Works decides to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Statement, Me2Works will post those changes to this webpage and/or other places Me2Works deems appropriate.

11.2. To the extent permitted by law, such changes to this Privacy Statement shall apply from the time that Me2Works posts the same on this webpage, and users continued use of the Site and services on the Site shall constitute acceptance of the changes to this Privacy Statement.
